Nannofossil laboratory
Calcareous nannofossils are examined either under a transmitted light microscope or under a scanning electron microscope. The two corresponding preparation procedures are shown in the pictures below.
There is a risk of calcareous nannofossils being partly or even completely dissolved during the preparation procedure of the sample. Find here an article (in English language) providing advice on how this can be avoided or alleviated.
